P1. The Olympic Games were held every four years.

P1. A powerful earthquake  destroyed much of Olympia and the ancient Olympic Games came to an end.

P2. A Frenchman Pierre de Coubertin wanted to bring the Olympic Games back to life.

P2. In 1894 he invited his friends and colleagues to a meeting in Paris, France and told them his idea to bring back the modern Olympic Games.

P2. New Zealand was one of the 13 nations represented at the signing of the IOC.

P3. At the ancient Olympic Games, awards were given to athlete, artists, musicians and writers.

P3. In keeping with this idea Pierre de Coubertin created symbols and encouraged ceremonies, music and pageantry in the modern.

Lover of the Southern Ocean with all its delicious delights like squid, octopus, salps and fish. 

Who needs fishermen to do their very best to help the Albatross survive by fishing on the very darkest nights and avoiding the full moon.

Who gives 85 percent of their life to the sea looking for food, flying just above the surface of the salty water.

Who feared the British who hunted them for their feathers, bills and bones.

Who would like to hang out on land clacking their bills having a korero with their friends.

Who comes from a long line of ancestors like the Antarctic  penguin.

Albatross
